    1. What is this site?

      This is a metadata registry - free to use and created specifically to help improve the quality of entries in the Australian Government Data Catalogue (AGDC).
      Based on news stories like this one       we can see there is a problem efficiently reporting data records to the Australian public, specifically in a way that respects our time and tax dollars spent.
      We know there is a better way. We are Aristotle Metadata, and have created this site to help public servants easily record their data and submit it to the AGDC.

    2. Who is this site for?
      If you are part of an Australian public sector, this site is for you. Create an account with your organisation's email address (.gov.au) and you're in!

    3. Wait, why do I need to sign up with my organisational email address?
      If you create an account with your .gov.au email address you will be automatically granted access to view and update your organisation's data records. If you prefer to sign up with a different email that is fine, please contact us after signup and we will get you sorted. There will be an additional step to verify your permissions to edit.

    4. I signed up. Now what?
      Here's a step-by-step guide on how to update your department's data asset records.

    5. How do my changes here make it into the Australian Government Data Catalogue?
      Once your have submitted your data asset changes, or new assets for publication, they will be assigned a new status in the registry. We will routinely submit a report of these data assets to the ONDC for publication in the AGDC.

    6. I want to record a new data asset for my department. How do I do that?
      Once you are signed in and have verified your department, use this template to record a new data asset to be added to the AGDC (Dataplace).

    7. How much does this cost?
      Nothing to you. We truly believe our metadata registries are the best tool for the job, and are bearing the costs so this public service is accessible to anyone who wants to contribute to improving the quality of their department's data records in the AGDC.

    8. What if I want my own metadata registry?
